These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website and services provided by Raven Marine Consultants ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). By using our website or engaging our marine consultancy services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Eligibility & Client Requirements

  • Clients must be authorized representatives of vessel owners, operators, or other maritime stakeholders.
  • All information provided must be accurate, complete, and truthful.
  • We reserve the right to verify submitted information and request supporting documentation.

2. Services Provided

Raven Marine Consultants provides professional marine consultancy services including:

  • Marine Surveys & Inspections: Condition surveys, pre-purchase inspections, draft surveys, marine warranty surveys, and cargo surveys.
  • Audits, Compliance & Advisory: ISM audits, STCW & MLC compliance, ship performance optimization, and forensic marine investigations.
  • Technical & Project Management: Ship repair coordination, dry dock consultancy, and newbuilding supervision.
  • Marine Operations Support: P&I club correspondent services, crew supply, port agency, and testing coordination.

Important: We act as independent marine consultants providing professional opinions and recommendations. We do not guarantee any specific outcomes, as maritime operations involve inherent risks and are subject to various factors beyond our control.

3. Client Obligations

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to vessels and facilities for inspections.
  • Comply with applicable maritime laws, regulations, and international conventions.
  • Disclose any known defects, incidents, or safety concerns related to the vessel or operation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information shared during consultations.

4. Professional Standards

  • All services performed in accordance with international maritime standards and best practices.
  • Certified surveyors and auditors with relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Independent and unbiased reporting based on professional observations.
  • Compliance with applicable codes, conventions, and regulatory requirements.

5. Fees & Payment Terms

  • Service fees will be quoted and agreed upon before engagement.
  • Additional costs such as travel, accommodation, and port expenses are separate from consulting fees.
  • Payment terms and schedules will be outlined in individual service agreements.
  • All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
  • Urgent or emergency services may incur additional charges.

6. Data Protection & Confidentiality

  • Client information and vessel data treated with strict confidentiality.
  • Data processed in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.
  • Information may be shared with authorized parties as required by law or with client consent.
  • Appropriate security measures implemented to protect sensitive data.
  • Records retained only as long as necessary for business and legal purposes.

7. Limitation of Liability

  • Not responsible for vessel defects, operational failures, or maritime incidents beyond our control.
  • Liability limited to the professional service fees paid for the specific engagement.
  • Not liable for consequential, indirect, or special damages arising from our services.
  • Recommendations and opinions provided in good faith based on available information at time of inspection.

8. Insurance & Professional Indemnity

Raven Marine Consultants maintains appropriate professional indemnity insurance coverage. Details of coverage limits and terms are available upon request for specific engagements.

9. Intellectual Property

  • All reports, recommendations, and materials produced remain the intellectual property of Raven Marine Consultants.
  • Clients receive usage rights for the specific purpose of the engagement.
  • Reproduction or distribution of our materials requires written consent.

10. Termination of Services

Either party may terminate the consulting relationship with appropriate notice. Termination terms, including fee obligations and report delivery, will be specified in individual service agreements.

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka and international maritime law where applicable. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka, unless otherwise specified in individual service agreements.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms as necessary. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated "Last Modified" date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any modifications.
